Wexford Plantation
Wexford is a private, secure, gated golf, tennis and yachting community, with stately upper-tier homes, many with their own 70-foot boat slip attached to the property. Security at the gate is 24/7. The deep-water Atlantic Ocean and Intracoastal Waterway access harbor has locking gates. It has an luxurious clubhouse with full gourmet meal service, a 37.5 acre deep-water yachting marina, and a private, members only 18-hole championship golf course. There are no villas, condominiums resort hotels in the community. It has only homes and large waterfront townhouses. It is not an oceanfront community. It fronts Broad Creek on the west side of the Island. Golf and clubhouse fees are included in the owners’ annual fee.
Annual owner’s fees for 2007 are $9,385. There is an initiation/transfer fee of $20,000. Long Cove Club
Long Cove Club is small, private golf community with a nationally acclaimed Pete Dye designed course. There is security at the gate 24/7. It was developed in the early 1980’s. It is not an oceanfront community. It is on the west side of the Island, fronting Broad Creek, and it has a private marina with deep-water access to the Atlantic Ocean and Intracoastal Waterway. It has no villas or condominiums, only fine custom homes. There are 570 homes and lots in Long Cove Club. There are no tourists in this community. The community association states that amenities and activities available to Members include fishing (salt water or fresh water), a playground for children (including basketball court), and 24-hour award winning security service. The pool and pool house, adjacent to the clubhouse, are privately positioned in the middle of relaxing and beautiful surroundings. Several parties and cookouts are held at the pool each year, and on many occasions, Members relax with a good book from the complimentary book exchange. Long Cove Club owners may not rent out their properties short-term. Golf and clubhouse fees are included in the owners’ annual fee.
